Timothy Bates December 12, 1953- October 29, 2024

Timothy Bates, born on December 12, 1953, in Yokohama, Japan, to Marian F. and Rosalie M. Bates. Tim moved around with family before settling in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he developed a strong sense of family and the things that would matter the most in his life.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Marian and Rosalie Bates, his brothers, James A. and Marion F. Bates, and his son, Byran P. Bates. Tim leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Tim is survived by his devoted wife, Judith A. Bates, and children: Colleen M. Waldie and her wife, Rebecca Waldie; Justin M. Bates and his wife, Analisa Bates; Deanna L. Marriner and her husband, Jacob M. Marriner, along with children, Parker L. Settles, Leah R. Kreiser, and Abel T. Kreiser; Gayla R. Bates and her daughter, Melody S. Ziegler. He is also survived by his brothers, Ken Bates, and Chuck Bates and his wife Cherie Bates.

Tim will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering support for his family. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

Rest in peace, Tim. Your spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved you.

A memorial service will be held in his honor Monday November 11th, 2024 at 6pm at 210 S Westgate Dr, Weslaco, TX 78596.
