Rachel Cruz L. Briones

Weslaco - Rachel Cruz L. Briones, 89, of Weslaco, TX, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. 

Rachel was born to Pedro Vidal and Frances (Castillo) Lopez on May 3, 1936, in Brighton, CO.

Rachel was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend to all she met.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband Patricio Briones, and her two sons Reymundo (Lupita) and David (Irene) Briones, and two granddaughters, Angelica Patricia and Joanna Briones all of Mercedes. Rachel is also preceded in death by her sister Diana Bueno and two brothers, David and Rudy Lopez all from Colorado.

Rachel is survived by 4 sons, Domingo (Rebecca), Juan (Elizabeth), Felix and Valentin (Frances), and her sister Frances (Lopez) Martinez (John Paul Senior) of Aurora, Colorado, a great number of nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to your favorite charity, or Aurora House of Weslaco, or San Juan Nursing Home of San Juan.
