Piedad Flores

Donna - Piedad Flores passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 81.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

Amada madre, abuela, hermana y tía falleció con su familia a su lado

el jueves 28 de noviembre de 2024 en Donna, Texas, a la edad de 81

años. María Piedad Flores nació el 18 de abril de 1943 en Encarnación

de Díaz, Jalisco, hija de los difuntos Jesús y Tomasa Flores. Se casó

con su amado esposo, Javier González, el 8 de octubre de 1960. Él la

precedió en la muerte el 2 de febrero de 2009. Fue miembro fiel de la

Basílica de Nuestra Señora de San Juan del Valle-Santuario Nacional en

San Juan, Texas. Donde la encontrarías todos los domingos.

Piedad comenzó su familia en México y finalmente se mudó a Donna,

Texas, donde residiría el resto de su vida. Crió doce hijos,

sobreviven:  Martha Elena, Blanca Antelia, Rolando, Francisco Javier,

Rubén, Jorge, José Luis, Giselda, Saúl, Jesús, Brenda Dinorah y Edith.

Piedad encontraba alegría en regar sus plantas a diario, cocinar para

su amada familia y viajar por todo Estados Unidos y especialmente por

México. Podías encontrarla haciendo una o las tres cosas en un solo

día. En años más recientes, ella y su nieta Jackie comenzaron un

negocio de crochet que ella amaba y adoraba llamado Pili & Jackie

Creations. Sobre todo, a Piedad le encantaba pasar tiempo con su

familia, especialmente con sus quince nietos y nueve bisnietos.

Además, en vida la amaban sus hermanas, varios yernos, nueras,

sobrinos y sobrinas, y sus mejores amigas. En la muerte, como en vida,

ella descansará por siempre en los corazones de todos nosotros.

Loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt passed away with her

family by her side on Thursday, November 28, 2024 in Donna, Texas at

the age of 81 years old. María Piedad Flores was born on April 18,

1943 in Encarnacion de Diaz, Jalisco to the late Jesus and Tomasa

Flores. She married her beloved husband, Javier Gonzalez on October

8th 1960. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2009. She was a

faithful member of the Basilica Of Our Lady of San Juan del

Valle-National Shrine in San Juan, Tx.  Where you would find her every

Sunday.

Piedad began her family in Mexico and ultimately moved to Donna, Tx

where she would reside the rest of her life.  She raised twelve

children including Martha Elena, Blanca Antelia, Rolando, Francisco

Javier, Ruben, Jorge, Jose Luis, Giselda, Saul, Jesus, Brenda Dinorah,

and Edith. Piedad found joy in watering her plants daily, cooking for

her beloved family and traveling throughout the U.S. and especially

Mexico.  You could catch her doing one or all three of these in a

single day.  In more recent years she and her granddaughter Jackie

started a crochet business that she loved and adored named Pili &

Jackie Creations.  Above all, Piedad loved spending time with her

family, especially her fifteen grandchildren and nine

great-grandchildren.  In addition she was loved in life by her

sisters, several son-in-laws, daughter-in-laws, nieces and nephews,

and her best friends.

In death, like in life, she will forever rest in the hearts of us all.
