Olga Sanchez, age 74, of Weslaco, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025. Born on June 13, 1951, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Olga was raised in Weslaco, where she dedicated her life to education, faith, and family.

A proud first-generation college graduate, Olga began her career as a kindergarten teacher with Weslaco ISD and later served as an administrative facilitator within the district. Her lifelong dedication to education left a lasting impact on generations of students and colleagues.

Olga was a devoted servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her unwavering faith and active involvement in her church were cornerstones of her life, and she touched many with her compassion, warmth, and generosity.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Cesar Sanchez and Tomasa S. Sanchez, and her brother, Hector Sanchez.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Cesar Rene Sanchez; her honorary daughter, Nancy Sanchez Castro (Matthew); and her beloved honorary grandson, Ethan Joshua Sanchez. She is also lovingly remembered by her nieces: Noemi Sanchez Ziani (Med), Nora Lee Sanchez Maldonado (Jonas), Nelda Sanchez Lopez (Frank), Nellie Marie Sanchez; and her honorary niece, Alyssa Marae Montalvo.

Olga was incredibly close to her family. She made it a priority to attend every family event—whether it was a recital, birthday party, or awards ceremony. She had a special bond with her nieces, who deeply loved and admired her in return. Her presence was a constant source of support, joy, and encouragement to those she loved most.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Hawkins Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at La Santísima Trinidad Global Methodist Church in Weslaco at 12:15 p.m., followed by interment at Highland Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m.

Olga lived by the scripture:
"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." — Romans 8:28

Olga’s legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed.
