Donna - Ofelia M. Recio, 99, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025 at her residence in Donna, TX. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna, TX.

profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ofelia M. Recio

who went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 2, 2025 in her residence in Donna, Texas.

Born to Maria de Jesus and Francisco Miranda in

Tampico,Tamaulipas, Mexico. Ofelia made a life in Donna, Texas for over 75 years.

She was married to Jose Guadalupe Recio until his death in 2010.

She was a devoted wife and mother to seven children,

Estella R. Flores [Ernesto Flores], Virginia R. Cadena, Hortencia Recio,

Roberto Recio [Carmen Recio], Silvestre Recio ♰ (2020), Carlos

Recio [Nati Recio], Jose Guadalupe Recio [Leticia Recio]. Ofelia is survived by her children, a

brother, Victor Martinez, numerous nephews and nieces, 13 grandchildren and one great

grandchild. A special recognition to Hilaria Rocha, caregiver, for her love, companionship and

devotion. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, a son, Silvestre Recio and a

grandson Nicholas I. Cadena. Ofelia lived a long and happy life who enjoyed her gardening,

had a witty sense of humor, was a great storyteller and was a friend to many.
