On Wednesday, May 18th, 2022, Mauro A. Reyna, a brother, husband, and father, passed away at the age of 87. Mauro was born on October 26th, 1934,in Weslaco, TX. He is survived by his wife, Maria del Refugio, two sons Noe and Arturo, and a daughter, Teresa. He was one of seven brothers, son to loving parents, Oliva and Angel Reyna. He worked as a farmer in Lake Mills, WI but as 

soon as readily possible moved back to his beloved Rio Grande Valley.

Mauro was a lover of food, especially sweets, boisterous, amused by playful banter with anyone he encountered. His favorite and much-loved hobby was fishing. He may not have been the most talented fisherman, but what brought him joy was the act of being out in nature and conversing with family and friends. You rarely saw him not wearing one of the several trucker hats that he owned. And he regularly enjoyed watching a classic old movie or western on T.V. He was known for being disagreeable but was generous. He had alarge heart for all individuals he connected with and would stay in contact, always trying to provide what folks needed or wanted.

He is survived by his wife, Maria del Refugio, two brothers Marte and Marlo, two sons and a daughter, grandchildren, and extended family members. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 25th, at Hawkins Funeral Home located in Weslaco, 2222 Business Hwy 83 E.

Public visitation is available from 11-3 pm. Family visitation will begin at 3 pm.
