Donna - Lydia Jimenez, 89, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at her residence in Donna, TX. Funeral services are pending under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.
With love and cherished memories in our hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lydia Jimenez, who departed from this world on December 12, 2023. Mom was a remarkable woman whose love knew no bounds. She was a source of unwavering love and strength to her five adoring children: Dahlia Jimenez, Dora (Efren) Ceniceros, Martha (Richard) Mahoney, Timoteo (Beatrice) Jimenez, III., and Sam Jimenez.
She devoted herself to family, nurturing us with boundless affection, guidance, and support. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on our hearts, and her legacy will forever be etched in our souls.
Throughout her life, she was profoundly grateful for the love she shared with her beloved husband, Timoteo Jimenez, Jr. Their marriage was a wonderful partnership, filled with support and shared moments of joy and laughter. We find solace knowing that Mom is now reunited with the love of her life, in the presence of God, where they will share an eternity of love.
As we bid farewell to Mom, we feel sadness but also a deep sense of gratitude to have loved and been loved by this beautiful woman. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit and the love she showered upon us will always remain.
Mom is preceded in death by her parents Juan P. and Guadalupe Lugo, her sisters Beatriz Lugo and Maria Luisa Hernandez; her brothers Robert, Roy, Frank, and Alfredo Lugo, as well as her grandson, Thomas O’Malley Mahoney. She is survived by her brothers, Joe (Diane) Lugo and Juan P. Lugo, Jr.
Carrying Mom to her final resting place with love and honor will be George Hernandez, Matthew Jones, Danny Mahoney, Anthony Ayala, L. J. Samudio, and Philip Waldron. Embracing their roles as honorary pallbearers with heartfelt memories are David Lugo, Roy Lugo, Jr., Rolando Lugo, Rosie Hernandez, Kerim Mery, Timoteo Jimenez, IV, and Justin Runge.
The family wishes to thank Mom's dedicated caregivers: Andrea, Gracie, Norma, Irma, Ana, Lorena, Luisa, Maria, and Estefany, the nurses and staff at Knapp Medical Center, the team at Fresenius Dialysis Center, and Mom’s family doctor and dear friend, Dr. Donna Mery.
May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory bring comfort and inspiration to us all.
