Edinburg - Lionel Quiroga, 78, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at his residence in Corpus Christi, TX. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna, TX.

August 19, 1946 - July 3, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Lionel Quiroga, who left this world peacefully on July 3, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 78.

Born on August 19, 1946, in Weslaco, Texas, Lionel was the son Lucinda and Pedro Quiroga. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loving grandfather and great-grandfather and a cherished brother and friend.

Lionel is survived by his loving wife, Maria Magdalena Quiroga, and his children: Lionel (Guadalupe), Pedro (Anel), Alisha (Benjamin), and Veronica. He was a proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren and great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings: Pedro Quiroga, Oney, Hilda Ortega, Elizabeth McCutchen, and Imelda Granados, each of whom he held close to his heart.

He was preceded in death by his father Pedro Quiroga, his mother Lucinda Quiroga, and his brothers Eloy Guevara, Ismael Quiroga, Quirino Quiroga, Reymundo Quiroga, and Frank Quiroga. He was also preceded in death by his beloved son Reymundo Quiroga (Rachel Quiroga).

After many years of hard work, Lionel enjoyed a well-deserved retirement, spending his days in peace and comfort, surrounded by the love of his family. His wisdom, warmth, and humor left a lasting impact on everyone who had the honor of knowing him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and in the countless memories shared over a lifetime.

He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
