Leonel H. Guzman, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Leonel was preceded in death by his parents Baltazar G. Guzman and Maria E. Hinojosa and by all seven of his brothers and sisters: Gloria Valadez, Ramiro B. Guzman, Guillermina Balli, Alicia Soliz, Maria Guzman, Alvaro Guzman and Roberto Guzman and by his son Baltazar (Bobby) Guzman. Leonel was raised in Donna,TX completed school there before serving in the U.S. Army and in the National Guard Army where he was stationed at Fort Polk Louisiana. He was married to Julia for 68 years. Together they raised five sons whom he and Julia enjoyed supporting their boys athletic endeavors and attended many football games for the “Donna Redskins”. Leonel lived a life of loving dedication and devotion to family. He particularly enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Always easy and fun to be around, Leonel was a generous kind person to everyone he encountered in his career as a plumber. It brought him great joy and laughter being surrounded by his loved ones. He has numerous nieces and nephews who adored him and will miss him dearly. Left behind to cherish his memory are his son’s Leonel Guzman Jr.(Irma), Baltazar Guzman(Bobby) (+), Oscar Guzman (Nichole), Armando Guzman, Alfredo Guzman (Susan) and Granddaughters Norma Jean Hernandez (Max), Julia Ann Guzman, and Giselle Hernandez. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons: Oscar Guzman Jr., Justice Guzman, Christian Guzman, Christopher Guzman, Bobby Guzman and great grandson Damian Hernandez.
