Donna - Juliana Castillo, 79, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen, TX. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna, TX.

Juliana “Julia” Castillo, 79, of Donna, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025. Born on February 16, 1946, in Alamo, Texas, Julia lived a life grounded in love—love for her family, her faith in God, and the simple beauty found in flowers.

Throughout her life, Julia wore many hats, embodying resilience, wisdom, and grace. Among her proudest accomplishments was earning a degree in accounting—an achievement that reflected her dedication and determination.

Julia was preceded in death by Grandparents Ruperto Acosta and Belen Escobedo, Mother Patricia Escobar, Father Manuel Rodriguez, Aunt Modesta Balli & Francisca Contreras, Uncle Domingo Acosta, and Siblings Alejandro Rodriguez, Juan Rodriguez, and Guadalupe Velasquez.

She is survived by her beloved sons, Agustin (Melissa) Castillo and Rolando (Amber) Mendoza; cherished grandsons, Charles and Justin; sisters Dominga Poulaillon and Olga Lopez and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whom she embraced as her own.

Julia’s warmth, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
