Weslaco- Juan P. Guajardo, 75, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 in Austin, TX. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home in Weslaco.
Juan P. Guajardo
Our beloved brother, husband, father, abuelo and bisabuelo of 75 years, Juan Pablo Guajardo, was called to be with the Lord on May 12, 2025. He was preceded by his daughter, Tracy Guajardo, brothers, Tony and Jessie Guajardo, his father, Pablo Guajardo, and mother, Florinda Guajardo. Born April 18, 1950, Juan lived a long and meaningful life alongside his beautiful wife of 56 years, Gloria M. Guajardo, his three children, Juan P. Guajardo Jr. and his wife, Shelli Guajardo, Mary Anne Calderon and her husband, Richard P. Calderon, José J. Guajardo, and many wonderful grandchildren (13) , great grandchildren (5) and siblings (12).
Throughout his life, Juan was known for having the spirit of a provider that worked intensely to take care of his family. As a strong and hard-working man, he spent years taking on physical labor in the fields before continuing to Bekins, a moving company where he touched the lives of others with his witty personality and heart. Juan was also known for his love of music, specifically Tejano and old Country. He was a charming accordion player and karaoke singer with a classic country and heartfelt voice that left those who heard in amazement of his humble presence. But above all, Juan’s highest priority in life was always his family. He carried with him a deep love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and there will forever be a special bond shared with his first granddaughter, Brittany. He put them first in every way that he knew how and was ever present in their lives, leaving them with memories of his loving nature, comedic storytelling, and endless jokes that always left a smile on everyone’s face.
In remembrance of him, a memorial will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Hawkins Funeral home from 1pm-9pm where family and friends can stand in his presence again before the service and burial that takes place on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 12:00pm @ Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Progreso and 1:30pm @ Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
