Weslaco - Juan R. Balderrama passed away at the age of 85 on Monday, January 2, 2023.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Weslaco.

Weslaco- On January 2, 2023, our beloved husband and father, Juan R. Balderrama Sr., was called home by our Lord. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a simple man who loved to fish, attend mass, and attend family gatherings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Andrea Balderrama and his younger brother, Carlos Balderrama. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 55 years, Amparo Leal Balderrama of Weslaco. He also leaves behind three children: Juan (Laura) Balderrama Jr, Melissa Balderrama, and Delma (Pablo) Vallejo. Grandchildren: Sarah Vallejo, David, Balderrama, Aaron Balderrama, Katya Vallejo, and Mateo Vallejo. Siblings: Esperanza Ramirez, Santos Zuniga (Samuel), Mercedes (Luis) Martinez, Evangelina (Jose) Torres, Minerva Rodriguez (Tomas), Maria (Frank) Padrón, Rosa (Armando) De Los Santos, and one brother, Julian Balderrama (Gayle) of Michigan. His celebration of life mass will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Weslaco at 11:00 a.m
