Weslaco - Jesus “Jesse” Hector Marines Jr. passed peacefully on July 12, 2025, at the age of 38. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Weslaco.
With a spirit that touched so many, Jesus “Jesse” Hector Marines Jr. passed peacefully on July 12, 2025, at the age of 38.
Born on March 30, 1987, in McAllen, TX. Jesse was the cherished son of Jesus H. Marines and Edna Reyes Fuentes (Rogelio Fuentes).
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jose & Concepion Marines, maternal grandmother Maria Reyes, and maternal great aunt Juanita Tijerina.
He is survived by his father, Jesus H. Marines; his mother, Edna Reyes Fuentes; step-father, Rogelio Fuentes; sister, Vanessa Marines; nephew, Ayden Jose Davis, and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jesse was an accomplished bodybuilder, winning several overall shows, along with a personal trainer and fitness consultant. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met and took great pride in being able to motivate others to set and achieve goals. He reminded everyone that they were a champion, and that life isn’t perfect, to use the negatives to develop and enjoy the journey.
Jesse wasn’t just a son, friend, or bodybuilder; he was a loving and generous man who embraced family life without hesitation.
He didn’t try to be perfect; he just made the effort, and that meant everything. He was consistent, dependable, loving, and had a way of making the people around him feel protected and understood. His relationships were built on trust, laughter, and mutual respect. He took the time to listen, to show up, and to make sure they knew they had someone in their corner who had their best interest at heart.
To anyone who knew him, they described his heart to be a heart of gold because he would do whatever he could to help others succeed, reminding them they got it and to white out anything that would stop them from thriving. Jesse leaves behind a legacy of dedication, integrity, and love that touched and inspired many.
Gone from our sight, but not from our hearts, and always will be with us in spirit. His presence will be deeply missed, but the impact he made on everyone's life will always remain a part of them.
“The song may have ended but your beat will live forever in our hearts.”
