Donna - Jerry Guy Payton Jr., 58, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2023 at his home in Donna, TX.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

Jerry Payton Jr., age 58, passed away peacefully at home early on April 1st.

He was proceeded in death by his mom Linda and stepmom Patty.

A loving husband, father, son, brother, and grandpa. He is greatly missed by his wife Alisa, daughters Jewel (Isaac) Cvrk and Melinda (David) Avery, son Guy (Rayanne) Payton, father Jerry Guy (Phyllis) Payton Sr., sister Lorrie (Ted) Bens, grandkids Leah, Lydia, Lilly, Jason, Katie, Tabitha, Ben, Hannah and his favorite barking dustmop Sugar.

He attended Des Moines Tech High School and graduated in 1983. Enjoying retirement in Texas, he was an Iowa resident for most of his life, and spent over 20 years working nights for QuikTrip and sleeping and watching NASCAR during the day. Recently he found he liked performing at country jams, helping with the pop concessions, recording polo’s for his kids and grandkids, and even learning how to be a “techie” to help his retirement family with a new Facebook page. He showed his love by providing for his family, insisting it had to be “in the cart” for him to buy it, but always giving his time and care when needed. He was saved by God’s redeeming Grace when he was 25 and will be seen again in heaven someday by his brothers and sisters in Christ.
