Ida (Pena) Gomez

Donna - Ida Gomez, 58, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at her residence in Donna, TX.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

She was born on June 9, 1967, to Ernesto and Francisca Pena and grew up with her sisters, family and friends.

Ida graduated from Weslaco High School and worked for over 20 years as a schoolteacher at Donna ISD where she impacted her students even till this day. She was also known for being a leader in ministry, always preaching the Name of Jesus to everyone, being there for her friends and loved by her nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sisters Yolanda Salazar (Sergio), Nancy Calzada (Jaime), husband Roy Gomez, stepchildren Joni and Roy Jr (Nancy), grandchildren, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her dad (Ernesto) and mother (Francisca).
