It is with great sadness that the family of Gustavo (‘Gus’) Molina announces his sudden passing on August 22, 2020. He was 70 years old. Gustavo was born in Edinburg, Texas and lived a joyous and prosperous life. He was a veteran and served his country in the US Army, officiated many basketball and football games as part of the SBOA and SFOA, and was a dedicated USPS letter carrier in Donna, Texas before retirement. He had a personality that touched and affected many in a positive way.

He is preceded in death by his father, Erasmo Molina Sr, and his mother, Ernestina Cruz Molina, his brother, Alejandro Molina, his niece, Rebecca Molina, and his father-in-law, Jesus C. Hernandez.

Gustavo was a proud and loving family man. He is survived by his wife, Rosalinda H. Molina, and 4 children and 5 grandchildren; his three sons, Gustavo Andres (Andy) Molina (and wife, Priscilla Molina), Mario Rene Molina (and wife, Veronica Molina), Richard Erik Molina (and wife, Christina Elizabeth Aleman-Molina) and his only daughter, Judith Marissa Molina (and fiancé, Michael Maciel); his grandsons, Hunter, Michael, and Derek Molina and his granddaughters, Kodi and Victoria Molina. He is also survived by 4 brothers and 3 sisters: Erasmo Molina, Jr (and wife, Liz Molina), Lucila Fernandez (and husband, Alfonso Fernandez), Rodolfo Molina (and wife, Gloria Molina), Roberto Molina (and wife, Reynalda Molina), Cristina Saenz (and husband, David Saenz), Reynaldo Molina, and Cristela Torres (and husband, Rene Torres). He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law, Margarita A. Hernandez, and his beloved fur baby, Luna. Nothing made him prouder than his family.

Scheduled services will take place at Hawkins Funeral Home in Weslaco, Texas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27th from 3:00-7:00 pm and funeral service will be held on Friday, August 28th at 9:45am. Burial will follow at Weslaco City Cemetery at 11:00am.

We are so blessed to have had Gustavo Molina in this world as long as we did, and as he would say, he was “ribbons…let’s make like a tree and LEAF!” He will forever be in our hearts.
