Weslaco - Guadalupe Zavala passed away at the age of 91, on Monday, July 21, 2025.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Weslaco.

Weslaco - Guadalupe Zavala, Sr, 91, passed away peacefully Monday, July 21, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a loving son, father, and grandpa, whose strength and perseverance touched the lives of those he loved. Guadalupe had knowledge of many different things. He knew mechanics, plumbing, fencing, and was a carpenter by trade for many years. There are still many houses in town today that he built with the help of his nephews. He fathered 8 children in all. His first family consists of Guadalupe Zavala Jr., Sylvia Zavala, San Juanita Salinas Zavala, and Aracelia Salinas. His second family consists of Rosanna De Leon, Ruben Zavala, Lorena Moreno, and Veronica Harrington. Guadalupe enjoyed all his children as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved having a house full of his family to keep him company. Guadalupe is preceded in death by his mother Rosa Zavala, father Manuel Zavala Sr., brother Manuel Zavala Jr., brother Santiago Zavala, and Francisca Cavasos Zavala. Guadalupe is survived by Alicia Zavala Guadalupe Zavala Jr. (Diana) Sylvia Zavala San Juanita Salinas Aracelia Salinas Ruben Zavala (Blanca) Rosanna De Leon Lorena Moreno (Pedro) Veronica Harrington (Daniel) And 21 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. His legacy of love, devotion, and forgiveness will live on in the hearts of family and friends.
