Guadalupe Venegas

Weslaco - Guadalupe "Lupita" Venegas passed away at the age of 74.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Weslaco.

Guadalupe “Lupita” Venegas was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She passed away surrounded by her loved ones on November 18, 2022, at the age of 74.She was born to Secundino and Dolores Ramirez on May 2, 1948, in Elsa, TX.  After graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1967, she met her husband Esmerejildo, they married in 1971. Together they had two children: Rene and Ricardo.

She is survived by her husband Esmerejildo Venegas of Weslaco, TX, her sister Leonarda (Salvador) Figueroa, her sister Blanca Aguilar, her brother Oscar (Janie) Martinez, her two sons Rene (Elizabeth) Venegas and Ricardo (Yvonne) Venegas; grandchildren: Cristian Venegas, Sebastian Venegas, Lauren Venegas, and Dean Venegas; along with many adored nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 She was preceded in death by her parents Secundino and Dolores Ramirez.

 A viewing will be held at Hawkins Funeral Home (2222 Business HWY 83 E, Weslaco, TX 78596) on Wednesday November 23, from 11:00 am-8:00pm. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Friday November 25, at 10:00 am at San Martin de Porres (905 N. Texas Blvd. Weslaco, TX). Interment immediately following at Highland Memorial Park (6705 FM 88, Weslaco, TX 78599).
