Guadalupe Cantu

Donna - Guadalupe Cantu, 88, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX.  Funeral services are under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

Guadalupe Cantu went to the Lord on Oct. 18, after a sudden illness.

She was born on Dec. 14, 1934 near Donna, TX. She was happily married to Jeronimo Elias Cantu for many years. She was a devout Catholic her entire life, and raised her family with strong morals, the Christian faith, and family values. As a result, her two sons Jose and Richard served as law enforcement officers for over 30 years in the community. 

She instilled the importance of reading and education with her family. Her children and grandchildren have a lifelong love of learning and many of her grandchildren are pursuing advanced college degrees. 

She is survived by her sons Jose, daughter-in-law Nelda, and Ricardo, daughter-in-law Sonya, and her grandchildren Christopher, Ishmael, Jasel, Janette, Laura and Richie. As she always said, "Hasta Manana, si Dios quiere."
