Donna - Francisco Javier Perez, 64, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, TX. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

Francisco Javier Perez of Donna, Texas passed away on Friday, August 19 at the age of 64 due to complications in his courageous battle against illness. His family continues to admire his continued positivity, kindness and enduring smile even during his most challenging time. A unique soul with a big heart, Javier was devoted to his family with unconditional love.
 

Javier is preceded by his parents, Josefina and Enrique, his grandmother, Justa M. Ramirez, his sister, Socorro, his nephew, Christopher Ramirez and brother-in-law, William Price.
 

Javier is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Debbie, and daughter, Vanessa (Valeria). He is also survived by his siblings: Eva (Mike) Bailey, Manuel “Meme” (Lilia), Mary, Blanca, Irma (+William) Price and Lucy (Robert) Torres. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
 

Javier was born and raised in Donna, Texas. He attended school locally and graduated from Donna High School. He later returned to work at Donna ISD for over 30 years. A lifelong Donna Redskins and Dallas Cowboys fan, Javier could always be found watching sports while cheering on his favorite teams.
 

Javier’s devotion to family was also demonstrated in his hobbies. He would always be working on a home improvement project for his family or for one of his siblings that lived nearby. Javier would also never miss an opportunity to tag along with his big sisters to go dancing or play bingo. His face never failed to light up any time he was given a new key chain to add to his trademark collection.
 

Javier’s life will continue to be celebrated by his family and the countless others whose lives he touched.

A memorial service organized by his family will be held at Hawkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Interment to follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens.
