Eva Castillo

Donna - With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Eva Torres Castillo on March 30,2022.
We rejoice knowing that our mother will come face to face with Jesus, her savior, and that she will be reunited with our beloved father Julian Castillo, her daughters Delia and Sara, and her parents Alfonso and Manuela Torres.  
Our mother was born April 25, 1929 in Laredo, Texas. She met our father on a train bound for Colorado, they married in 1946, and they remained married for 55 years.
Our mama was blessed to live 93 full years. She was primarily a home maker but truly enjoyed working at the Donna Public Library for a short time. We will always remember her love of gardening, crafting, listening to music, crocheting, antique shopping, going to the movies, and going out to eat. She had a sense of humor like no other and loved to laugh! Most of all, our mama loved each of us in her own way and was always there when we needed her.
She will be missed by all of her family, but we rejoice that in Christ, she will be resurrected whole and is now at peace. 
Our mother was not only a mother to her surviving eight children but was also a grandmother to 27, a great-grandmother to 41 and a great-great-grandmother to 9 but regardless she was always called grandma by all of them!
Eva leaves behind her children, Jesse Castillo and his three children, Rosa M. Castillo and her three children, Delia Castillo and her three children, Elva (Robert) Gutierrez and their seven children, Anita Ruiz and her four children, Sylvia Cortez and her three children, Noemi (Jim) Liggett and their two children, and Alfonso Castillo and his two children.
Please join us in the celebration of her life. The viewing and rosary will be held on Monday, April 4 from 4pm to 9 pm. A private family service will be held Tuesday followed by her burial Wednesday morning at 10 am at the Donna City Cemetery.
