Donna - Eva Y. Adame, 91, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at her residence in Donna, TX.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

Eva Yznaga Adame is remembered with love and gratitude by her family, friends, and community. She was born on July 30, 1934, in Santa Rosa, Texas, and died on June 27, 2026, in Donna, Texas. Eva graduated from Edinburg High School in 1952. The following year, she began her career with the Hidalgo County Child Welfare Department, where she was employed from 1953 until her retirement in 1991. Eva was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Ana Teresa Adame, Xavier and Kristin Adame, and George and Lisa Adame. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Steven and Chrissy Anaya, Elyssa Zamora, Evana Zamora and Ricky Rendon, Sara Adame, Kevin Adame, and Madison and Joshua Sanchez, as well as her great-grandchildren, Anika, Aubrey, Addie Anaya, Joshua Adame Sanchez, Olivia Rendon, and Steven Anaya, Jr. Additionally, Eva is survived by her sister, Ana Y. Guerrero, and her brother, Thomas E. Yznaga. Eva is preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo D. Adame; her father, Tomas C. Yznaga; her mother, Concepcion T. Yznaga; her sisters, Irene Y. Leal and Martha Y. Leal; and her granddaughter, Kaylie M. Adame. Also preceding her death were her grandparents, Ernesto C. Yznaga, Matilde H. Yznaga, Pedro Tijerina Quiroga, and Ana Rutoskey Tijerina. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna, Texas, and participated in the St. Joseph Altar Society, American Legion Post #107, Missionaries of the Holy Family, and the Donna Hooks Fletcher Museum. Through her faith, service, and community involvement, she remained connected to the people and places she held dear. Visitation will be held at Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna, Texas, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Donna, Texas, on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with burial following at Donna City Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
