Elida S. Casares

Donna - Elida S. Casares, 86, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Valley Baptist in Harlingen, TX.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

Elida S. Silva, 86, entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Valley Baptist Hospital. She was born on September 10, 1936 in Donna, TX where she met her loving husband, Guadalupe M. Casares. Together they had five children Carlos Casares+, Ernesto Casares+, Melinda Casares+, Oscar Casares (Anna), and Melinda Ramirez (Joel). Elida had 3 grandchildren Joelyn Ramirez, Joel Ramirez Jr, and Iliana Casares. She also leaves two great grandchildren Ava and Emerie Reyes.

Elida S. Casares was preceded in death by her mother, Maria L. Silva, her father, Rodolfo Silva Sr., her husband, Guadalupe M Casares, and her three children, Ernesto Casares, Carlos Casares, and Melinda Casares. Also preceding her in death were her two sisters, Elva Alaniz and Adelina Gillum, and her brother Rodolfo (Rudy) Silva Jr. Elida is survived by her son, Oscar Casares, daughter, Melinda Ramirez, brother, David Silva and sister, Lydia Silva.

Elida was a wonderful and devoted mother and grandmother to all. Besides the love for her family and friends she will be remembered for being very caring and spending time calling friends and family to catch up. She was a blessing to all who knew her and will be greatly missed and remembered forever.
