David G Yarritu Jr.

Donna - David G. Yarritu passed away at the age of 70 on Saturday, August 30, 2025.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

David was born in Donna, Texas; he passed away in peace on Saturday evening surrounded by his family at the age of 70. David loved baseball; he played first base throughout little league. David enjoyed music; his instrument was the saxophone. David was in the Donna Redskin marching band and also a member of a local Tejano group for several years. David attended the University of Pan American where he obtained his bachelor's in business administration. David had also been a volunteer fire fighter for the Donna Fire Department. He was a good listener; he always had a kind spirit in himself. This humble spirit was what drew people to him. His grandchildren loved him and were drawn to him for the same reason. He will be dearly missed!

David was an easy going and loved by many due to his charisma and humbled personality. He was kind and always ready to have a conversation to discuss all his family's accomplishments and achievements. David was intelligent and had a great sense of honor which enabled him to make friendships easily. David loved visiting his relatives and enjoyed traveling to Arkansas and California.
David Yarritu Jr. is preceded in death by his father David Yarritu Sr., his mother San Juana G Yarritu, and his grandson Miguel Angel Martinez.

David is survived by his wife Maria R. Yarritu, his daughters Mariella Yarritu Sisk, Lorena (Manuel) Fonseca Yarritu, Darlene (Abelino) Cano, and Crystal (Miguel) I. Martinez, 13 grandchildren, brothers Rolando (Nancy) Yarritu, Daniel (Graciela) Yarritu, and a total of 9 nieces and nephews.
