David B. Turner

David Bruce Turner, 71, passed away on January 10, 2021, at his home in Donna, TX.  He was born on December 2, 1949 in McAllen, TX.  He was a lifelong resident of the Rio Grande Valley, and a 1980 graduate of the University of Texas Pan American.  He worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years at various valley hospitals, including McAllen Medical Center and Rio Grande State Center.

His love for airplanes began with his father, who shared his affinity for flying at a young age.  He then enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1972.  Those who knew David also know of his love for sailing and fishing.  He loved to spend his free time on the water, in the skies, watching his favorite movies, or with his family. 

David was preceded in death by his, father, Robert Bruce Turner, mother Kathryn Houghton Pierson Turner Allphin, sister Glenda Kay Turner Heaner, and brother Robert Lynn Turner.  He is survived by his sons David Gene Turner (Anne Bland) and William James Turner, his daughters Kellie Balli (Christopher Balli) and Catheryn Lynette Turner, his nephew Jason Turner, his niece Tiffany Turner Schroeder, and his three beloved grandchildren, Henry, Samuel, and Molly.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that any memorial tributes be made in the form of charitable donations to the Air Force Aid Society (AFAS).

A private family service will be held at a later date.
