Aurora Decker
March 28, 1942 – May 25, 2025
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother
Aurora Decker, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on May 25, 2025 in Alamo, TX. Born on March 28, 1942, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Aurora brought joy, warmth, and laughter to everyone she met.
She married the love of her life, Arthur James Decker from Middleburgh, NY, on July 9, 1979, after meeting in Guadalajara. Together they built a loving family and a life filled with unforgettable memories.
Aurora is survived by her devoted son, James Arthur Decker; her beloved grandchildren, Mark Anthony Decker and Synthia Marie Decker; and her three great-grandchildren, Khloe, Emily Salazar, and Kino Rios.
In the 1980s, Aurora worked for Griffin and Brand in McAllen, Texas, but she was truly a homemaker at heart. Her greatest joy came from caring for her family and filling their lives with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Aurora had a passion for music and could often be found listening to her pocket radio. Her storytelling was full of humor and she had a natural gift for making people laugh. Anyone who spoke with Aurora would quickly find themselves smiling, laughing, and feeling like family. Her warmth and humor could light up any room.
Aurora will be remembered for her selflessness, her spirit, strength, and the happiness she brought into the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue for generations to come. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Per her wishes, no formal services will be held. She has been cremated, and in a private, peaceful moment, she will be reunited with her beloved husband, Arthur James Decker, as she is laid to rest beside him at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen, TX. Her final resting place that brings them together once more, just as they were in life.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the friends and loved ones who have offered their support, prayers, and kindness during this difficult time. Your love and compassion have brought comfort and strength, and we are deeply thankful.
