Donna - Arturo Garcia, a life-long resident of Donna, Tx, passed unexpectedly on June 27th, 2021, at the age of 73. Hawkins Funeral Home of Donna has been entrusted with his funeral arrangements.
Arturo is survived by his wife of 51 years, Delia Garcia, his daughters, ✝Priscilla (Ricardo) Perez, Amy (Romeo) Perez, and LeeAnn Garcia, his grandchildren, Ricardo (Cynthia) Perez II, Rolando Perez, Alyssa N. Perez, Alyson M. Perez, and his great-granddaughter Priscilla G. Perez; his siblings Celia (✝Jose) Tavarez, Andres (Belinda) Villasenor, Beatrice (Dave) Schmelzer, respectively with their nieces and nephews.
Arturo was born in Mexico City on April 9th, 1948 to ✝Celia Ochoa and ✝Paulo Garcia. On November 3rd, 1969, Arturo wed Delia Guerrero and they raised 3 daughters in their loving home.
Arturo enjoyed spending time with family and his beloved dogs. He enjoyed doing yard work and adding to his home as his family grew. He spent his mornings with his friends at the Donna Whataburger and walking the local flea markets. He frequently devoted time and effort to the local political campaigns where he made life-long friends. Arturo would also lend a helping hand to his family and friends, especially for summer projects with his loved ones.
Even though his presence will be greatly missed, he is now looking and smiling down to our families alongside his daughter, ✝Priscilla Perez.
Viewing will be held at Hawkins Funeral Homes in Donna, TX, Tuesday 5pm-8pm and Wednesday 2pm-8pm. Rosary will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6pm. Arturo will be laid to rest at Val Verde Cemetery, Donna, TX on Friday, July 2nd, 2021, at 10am.
