Ariel Espericueta Obituary

Donna - Ariel A. Espericueta, 14, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

Ariel Amanda Espericueta was embraced by the arms of Jesus on October 12,2021.  She was 14 years old. She is survived by her loving parents, Armando Espericueta, and Norma Robledo Espericueta. She has one sister, Norma Jean Espericueta. All from Donna, Texas.  She is also survived by her maternal grandmother-Elia Castellon and maternal grandfather-Everardo Contreras. She also is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.   She also left behind her pet turtle-Shelly, and her little dog-Pixi.

Ariel was currently a 9th grader at Donna High School.  She attended Mid Valley Assembly of God church in Weslaco. She loved to draw, paint, and make crafts.  She enjoyed playing softball.  Her favorite video games were Animal Crossing and Mario Kart.

In her short life, she was very unselfish.  She always put other persons needs before hers.  She always prayed for the animals at Palm Valley Animal Shelter in hopes they would get adopted.  She loved to go shopping at Target and Ulta.  She was a Squishmallow toy collector.  She enjoyed making Slime.  She loved to get good grades in school, and was an Honor Roll student and also made Deans List in the 6th grade.

She touched many peoples lives with the courage and strength she showed while battling Muscular Dystrophy for four years.  She was not a quitter.  She is a child of God, and loved to attend church.

Honored to served as pallbearers are her uncles:  Claudio Castellon, Rey Castellon, Antonio(Tony) Espericueta, Albert Espericueta, and Angel Espericueta.  Also Dario Hernandez, her cousin.

We would like to thank all our family, MVA church family, and friends for all of the prayers, visits, phone calls, food and texts.  Also to Only Love Palliative Care for the compassionate care and attention they provided to our daughter.  Also to Dr. Oakes and Dr. Mendiola for their special attention.  Also thank you to Make A Wish of the RGV for granting her, her dream wish of going to Disneyworld.

We wish to share this bible verse, Joshua 1:9.  Be strong and courageous the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.  We chose this bible verse because Ariel was always strong and courageous.  She did not want us to cry.  She fought the good fight until the end. We know she is now rejoicing in Heaven with our Lord and watching over us. She will always live in our hearts and never be forgotten.  My sweet angel de mommy.
