Weslaco- Ann Louise Sondergard, 95, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at her residence. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home.

Ann Louise Sondergard, 95, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at her residence in Weslaco, TX. She was born on August 28, 1928, Ann was the daughter of Maurice Dome and Zelma Dome. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her husband of 61 years, Richard (Dick) Sondergard. She is survived by her brother, Charles Dome, and her three children, Karen (Jerry) Buwa, Linda (Terry) Condon and Michael Sondergard, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Ann graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1946. After graduating, she worked for Dodge manufacturing in Mishawaka. She loved to travel with her friends. She met her husband, Dick Sondergrand on a blind date, and they married in June 1953.

Ann settled into her role as a wife and mother, a role that she treasured. Retirement allowed her the opportunity to once again travel, the highlight being five trips to Alaska.

Ann and Dick settled in Weslaco, Texas, a community they adored. They remained active in their retirement park and became “expert” at shuffleboard. Ann was proud of their well-earned trophies Ann was a kind, sweet soul. She will be greatly missed.
