Donna - Alvino Salinas, 85 passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at his residence in Donna, TX. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home in Donna.

With a heart as deep as the waters he loved to fish and hands that nurtured the earth like the trees he planted, our dad, Alvino Salinas, has left us, taking with him the quiet joy of nature’s embrace.

Alvino, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on December 26, 2024 at the age of 85. Alvino was born in Elsa, Texas on March 1, 1939. He was a hardworking self-educated businessman and an exemplary role model to his children and grandchildren. We will be forever grateful for his encouraging and unwavering support of our ideas, dreams, and goals. He had a special way of putting smiles on his grandchildren’s faces, always ready with his favorite dessert, an ice cream sandwich on those hot Texas days.

Alvino proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, enlisting from 1956 - 1958.

Alvino Salinas is preceded in death by his siblings, Angel Salinas (Nancy) and Maria Pineda (Israel). Left to cherish his memory is wife, Olivia Salinas, sisters Maria Apolinar Silva and Estella Gutierrez. Previously married to Francisca Salinas, he is survived by their children Rudy (Dolores), Alvino Jr., Ernest, Becky Lugo (Dario), and Ruben. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition, Alvino is survived by his stepchildren Moises, David, Connie, Mary Lynn, Laura Arjona, and 9 grandchildren.
