Weslaco - Ramona Garcia, 70, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home in Weslaco.

Ramona G. Garcia, age 70, was called home to God’s loving arms, February 25, 2024 at 9:24 pm at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas. She was surrounded by her loving family. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Transito Garcia and her adoring children; Patricia (Ignacio) Valdez, Jesus (Kenyetta) Garcia, Guadalupe Garcia and Michelle (Leonardo) Servin, siblings; Manual Lopez, Herminia Lopez, Margarita (Guillermo) Chapa and Ramon Garcia Jr. along with 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; Prudencia and Ramon Garcia, siblings; Felix Garcia, Victor Lopez, Nasaria Martinez, Oscar Lopez, Jose Omar Lopez, Amanda Jimenez and nephew Omar Cuellar.

She was a migrant field worker with her parents and siblings. At the age of 18 she met Transito Garcia (20) who would become her husband. She held several occupations, but her passion was caring for her family. Not only did she raise her 4 children, but also had a big hand in the raising of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews and even some family friends.

She left her family with a legacy of faith. She set an example of a faithful servant.

“I have fought the good fight, I have kept the faith.”  2 Timothy 4:7

Pallbearers will be Ramón García, Jesus García, Transito García, Leonardo Servin, Felix Servin, Benjamin Servin, Carlos Cuéllar, and Jaydien Morales. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Priscilla Hawkins, Hawkins Funeral Home, Weslaco.
